Technical Area 3:
Secure Jam-Resistant Communications

Research is needed to enable secure jam-resistant multi-user communications in noisy/cluttered and hostile wireless environments, to provide scalable high-capacity links. New algorithms for multi-user low power wideband LPI/LPD/LPJ signal design are required. Novel signal processing techniques are needed for adaptive spectrum reuse and interference rejection (multi-user, co-site, multipath fading, EW and jamming). Space-time coding algorithms for multiple users over time/frequency selective channels should be developed. Additional research is required in novel techniques for collision detection, resolution and control. Research in exploiting traffic and physical channel models and network diversity is needed to optimize resource allocation. Research in jammer detection and mitigation is also needed.
